Balance.

Finding the balance of discipline and the Spirit... Our fulcrum is Jesus Christ. But when we teeter towards one side more than the other, how far do we go until we need to regain that balance? I see pros and cons of each side.. On one hand, if you are too disciplined in following every command without allowing room for the Spirit to move freely within, you have now stepped into the legalistic rituals of religion. You flip the coin over, and you're zealous and on fire for the Lord, you run the risk of losing yourself in the whirlwind of emotions mistaking true passion for worldly passion. Personally, I think that without passionate love for the Lord, nothing you do holds much meaning.. You can be doing everything right by the book but in the end, what was it all for?? Sigh.... I feel like what once started with a fiery flame to serve the Lord has now diminished to a pathetic flicker barely trying to stay lit. I remember in Jr. High always singing "Don't let my love grow cold, I'm calling out, light the fire again" I need that fire rekindled. :/
