" 7I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me through the working of his power. 8Although I am less than the least of all God's people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. 10His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. 13I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory." Ephesians 3:7-13

I don't think Paul could have said it any better in these verses. He humbles himself, putting himself under everyone else. He knows he has a gift from God, to preach and spread the Word, but he knows that it isn't by his own strength or power. He returns all the glory back to God. He calls himself a servant, gives credit to whom credit is due. His heart is absolutely and genuinely for the people of Corinth- to have them grow in their faith and see them love God as much as he does. I really like verse 12, "In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence." God gave us this freedom, so that we may come before Him whole-heartedly. What is the point of love if He designed everyone to bow before Him? We'd all be robots. We also need confidence in our love for Him- or in our love for anyone for that matter. If we aren't confident in something that we believe in, then why are we believing at all? I pray for a servant's heart like Paul's and to humbly preach the gospel to those who need to hear it.
