" 31So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— 33even as I try to please everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved."
This is something that I struggle with daily. Just last night when some friends were talking about how much they drank the night before, it was hard not to laugh along, so I nodded along and smiled. Basically I was trying to seek my own good. "Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God".. It's not only our fellow Christian brothers and sisters whom we shouldn't hinder from their walk with Christ, but non-believers as well. I remember Pastor Michael Chung talking about his trip to India, where he saw a group of caucasians walking around at the airport singing to Justin Bieber out loud, and when other Indians saw them, they all shook their heads at them; and at that moment he felt embarrassed and ashamed on behalf of these Americans. As citizens of the United States, they were misrepresenting Americans. In the same way, we as Christians are citizens of Heaven; so we should reflect the characteristics of Christ.
