We all need to carry a mentality of being more like Christ. Stop acting upon what we think is best for us, and start being mindful of what God thinks is best for us. We all desire good things for ourselves because we are mostly hedonistic beings- maximize pleasure, avoid pain in the process. But God desires good things for us as well! " 1How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him." (1John 3:1) The world does not know us because they don't know Him. Maybe if we were a little more like Him, then people would see Him through us. We need to keep in mind that God is on our side. The world doesn't look out for us- it could care less about our well-being.. But to God, we are His beloved children.
