Hosea 13

" 4 "But I am the LORD your God,
who brought you out of Egypt.
You shall acknowledge no God but me,
no Savior except me."

He saved us all.. brought us out of our misery.

"5 I cared for you in the desert,
in the land of burning heat.

6 When I fed them, they were satisfied;
when they were satisfied, they became proud;
then they forgot me."

We are always so welcoming when it comes to receiving gifts and amenities.. but then we become greedy and our selfish hearts desire for more. We ask God for peace, He gives us peace, we start to complain that life is too boring and create drama- come back to God and ask Him to take these things away.. endless cycle of hypocrisy and sinful desires... = our sinful nature.

"10 Where is your king, that he may save you?
Where are your rulers in all your towns,
of whom you said,
'Give me a king and princes'?"

We turn to many different things--habits, idols, people, etc. other than God.. and they never prove of any use. We seek God as a last resort...
