Esther 9

"7 They also killed Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha, 8 Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha, 9 Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai and Vaizatha, 10 the ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews. But they did not lay their hands on the plunder.

15 The Jews in Susa came together on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and they put to death in Susa three hundred men, but they did not lay their hands on the plunder."

Lord brought to the Jews justice upon their enemies. They vanquished all those who sought to destroy them, but I think it is important to note that "they did not lay their hands on the plunder." In other words, they only did what God allowed them to do. I'm reminded of the story of Gideon when God let him conquer the Midianites using only three hundred men. But Gideon became prideful and foolish and he slipped into idolatry. In the case of the Jews, however, they were better than to take their blessings as their own glory. Many times we pat ourselves on the back when something good happens to us because we think that it is the result of our own good doing, when really it is God who is behind it all.
