Kindness and sternness. A lot of times we only focus on the former and forget the latter. We take His grace for granted and give the excuse that "God will forgive me for my sins- He always does." to justify our wrongdoings. God is kind, but He's not a pushover... is basically what I understood out of this verse. He will show kindness to us when we make mistakes but He will be firm as well in order to teach us so that we don't make the same mistake over and over again.
