"1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Joseph, Rahab the prostitute, etc. all were people of great FAITH as this chapter mentions. At the end of our lives, would we be able to say that we lived by faith?
"16 Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them." Hebrews 11:16
God has promised us greater rewards for those who love and believe in Him. This earth holds nothing for us--no guarantees, no satisfaction. Those who lived by faith knew this because they had hope in God.
