"1 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. " Hebrews 13:1-2
Not only are we to show kindness and love towards our peers, we are also to be kind and hospitable to strangers. The 'angels' part reminds me of The Preacher's Wife for some reason..
"3 Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering." Hebrews 13:3
Our hearts should transcend from ourselves and those closest around us to those who we might not even know but know are out there- missionaries and other people of God who are in need of prayer. This world has much bigger problems than our petty dramas.
"5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
Wish I had read this verse a couple years ago when I was really struggling over money. For the most part, I now have comfort and peace of mind that God really does provide for those who love Him.
"8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." Hebrews 13:8
I remember reading & memorizing this verse in junior high at a missions trip in Mexico..
