Jesus didn't have a luxurious life of riches and fame- that isn't how the Son of God "became the source of eternal salvation" for us. Rather, he obeyed his Father, enduring and persevering through pain and suffering so that the world may be saved.
"11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil." Hebrews 5:11-14
Good rebuke we can all check ourselves with.. Some of us haven't been Christians for too long, but others like myself have grown up in church and received salvation from an early age. By now, we should be teaching others of the gospel and the knowledge of God. Of course, there is no cap in knowing Him because we will never be able to fully know and understand the vast greatness and mystery of God and Heaven. But for us to be keep going back to the matter of whether we have salvation or not is elementary stuff- stuff that we should already have a solid ground over because our faith of salvation is the basis for everything we live by. A lot of times, however, I feel like I take one step forward and then three steps back. So then at that rate, am I really growing spiritually? Am I moving forward or trying to keep up? I don't know.
