"1 “To the angel of the church in Sardis write:
These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you." Revelation 3:1-3
This passage speaks to our churches. We are alive but SO dead. We're like robots like clockwork that show up to church and other events every week and then going home without a dent in us by the Holy Spirit. These are instructions for the dying church.. We need to wake up and find strength in the One who has the power to do all things. Sometimes it might seem like we're hanging by a thread, but there's a reason why we're still hanging. God has some unfinished business with us.
" 19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent." Revelation 3:19
I need this to be my prayer, my attitude and heart. He disciplines us because He loves us. When we make a mistake, He helps us back up on to our feet and teaches us how to fix them rather than wave a magic wand and simply grant us things. Therefore we need to earnestly repent as soon as we realize our mistakes.
