strength in numbers

so tonight was full of blessings sharing and praying with my small group. i love praying with groups of people because i firmly believe that there is power in numbers. i remember in junior high Pastor Paul told us the importance of memorizing verses because we can use them in our prayers and they're an extremely powerful tool against fighting against sin. so i always back my prayers up with Matthew 18:20 when i pray with a group: "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." God listens to the cries of our hearts especially when we lift them up together as one. we prayed for STRENGTH and UNITY within our small group as well as for Cornerstone as a whole, and for SPIRITUAL AWAKENING within our hearts at our upcoming retreat next weekend. i really want us to be a body of believers that earnestly seek God through prayer and petition and the WORD. that this generation would be a generation that PRAYS. i myself am still learning and trying to be disciplined in these things, and that is my commitment for this new year. i'm grateful even for my accountability girls sharing a chapter of the Word a day and just encouraging one another, pushing one another to stay in God's Word. there's something powerful and meaningful when a group of people lift up a common heart and vision and humbly yet desperately ask the Lord for help.
