technology & Jesus.

currently watching/listening to Dr. Ajith Fernando speak at the OIL conference. thanks to ustream, i've been tuning in to their worship services and Q&A panel right in the comfort of my own home! for those like me who couldn't afford to travel all the way to Maryland to experience the conference in person, this is a very close second in receiving blessings haha. during these past couple weeks i've been realizing how much i enjoy listening to sermons--listening to spiritual leaders being used by the Word of God and delivering His messages. the things we listen to makes a lasting impact on us, i.e. music. listening to the "wrong" kinds of music continuously will make you start thinking differently and acting differently. what we feed into our minds through our ears will eventually influence us. the question is, do you want them to influence you in a positive or negative way? i choose the former. i want to constantly be filled with the Word. the way i see it is the more i stuff my ears with the Truth, the more i block out the world's lies, thus leading to growth.

i feel like there's so much stigma when it comes to the use of technology. there are so many wrong ways to use it, it's no reason why parents try to keep their kids off the computer as much as possible. but on the other hand, there are so many ways to use technology to your spiritual advantage. i used to pull out my blackberry during church and feel guilty even though i was strictly using it to access the Bible app. but i think my guilt came from the distractions that we're all so used to when it comes to being on our phones during services, being on the computer when you're alone, etc. this is the world, ladies and gents. it takes a neutral thing, has the choice to make a good decision or poor one, chooses the latter and perverts the mind and heart.

i want Jesus to be in all parts of my life--even in the words that i type and the links that i click.

join in on the blessings by watching what's going on at OIL LIVE!: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/liveoil
