Tick tock,
"The lazy man does not roast his game,
but the diligent man prizes his possessions."
(Proverbs 12:27)
Lord forgive me, for I have skipped class today.. -__-;
I've been trying to make it a personal goal of mine to wake up each and everyday and have the Lord be the first thing on my mind. But it's turning out to be harder than I had imagined. I have to confess- the first thing I thought of when I woke up today was "Dang, I'm late for class. Oh well. Zzzzz-" NOT GOOD. God doesn't want us to be lazy! The lazy man will not gain. Being slothful does not reflect a good image of a Christian. We need to be timely and proactive because as Christians setting an example for others is our main game. If we can't practice what the Bible teaches, we are no more of a God-follower than the dude next door who gets drunk and high everyday.
Being on time for church also says a whole great deal about your discipline for God. I think as a whole, Cornerstone has gotten somewhat better at being more punctual (or maybe we all got lazy and gave in to the fact of starting bible studies at 7:30 now instead of 7:00 sharp). Either way it goes, I'm starting to understand why teachers become such crabbysauces when students walk in a half-hour late. It shows disrespect for the time they are here to teach. We set a time to come and worship God, and being God, He shows up on time to meet us with open arms- yet there we are rolling out of bed, dragging our feet to church, eating dinner at 6:50 when we know small group starts in 10mins.. Not only does that show lack of discipline on our part, it's also disrespectful to God. He deserves the utmost respect and so much more. Why are we so good at showing up on time for movies or concerts, but not for God? We should be just as excited to go to church, if not more.
