I feel like the Preacher who is speaking in this book really gets me right now haha. Perhaps it's because we're in the midst of finals week, but I feel so discouraged and weary about life at the moment. It's relieving to read somewhere in the Bible that actually sympathizes with me for once rather than rebuking or trying to encourage me. I believe that sadness is a necessary and healthy emotion, and it's okay to feel under the weather sometimes because no one is always perky and slap-happy. Be joyful always, yes! But joy comes in a myriad of forms; elation and joy are not always synonymous of each other. I delight in the Lord- He is the only thing on this earth that gives me strength right now- but as the Preacher says, we toil over everything under the sun. I guess if you really think about it, it sounds like he is just complaining and whining.. Hm.
