Ecclesiastes 3: In His Time

God really has been testing me this past week.. And all I can say is: FAIL.

In chapter three of Ecclesiastes, I realized this is that famous passage that pastors use in funerals. See I never knew that before because I am apparently quite naive about God's Word.. :( But it says that there is a time for everything. I am a strong, strong believer in the phrase "everything happens for a reason," and I think this kind of goes along with it.

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

God already set eternity into our hearts. Our future has already been decided, but our foolishness and selfishness get in the way of God's plans for us. He made everything beautiful. Not "fine" not "pretty" not "cute", but beautiful. And we need to trust in that. I believe that God has a plan for me- but I think the reason why I fail to see it is because my trust in my own self hinders me from trusting solely in Him. Everything happens for a reason, and that reason is God.
