small group

today my small group and i had our first bible study on the third floor of HSSE. at a library, yes... hahah, what better place to study? X) i was pretty nervous about it, im not gonna lie, but God was definitely with us today. we actually ended up running past our 30min meeting and going for almost an hour. i think it was very beneficial for me and hopefully others as well to be able to gather like this and discuss our lives using the Bible as our guide. i think as a leader, i need to work on coming up with critical questions that will make others think deeply about their lives and tie it to the Word as well.

we covered chapter 1 of Mark and came to the following conclusions: We must put down our lives and follow after Jesus and put Him before everything else in our lives just as his disciples followed after Him. How do we do that realistically in our lives? Daily devotionals, talking with God, keeping a deep relationship with the Lord.

kevin lin also brought us a box of baked goods that he shipped all the way from cali! i am so grateful for kevin, because he continues to have this curiosity and thirst for God and how He works.

i realized one major thing today.. as a small group, we don't have to all be best friends or see each other everyday. the most important thing i want for my small group is for us to encourage each other to read and study the Word more, learn from each other, and build each other up so that we may all experience spiritual growth. this is my prayer for my small group.
