Love like Christ

Jesus commanded us to love one another. He didn't ask us to love, nor did he suggest that it would be nice if we loved- but he commanded us. So why is it then that I find myself in such disobedience when it comes to loving my neighbor? Turning the other cheek and avoiding them isn't love.. Throughout the following week, my goal is going to be to learn to love as Christ loved us. That means loving people in spite of their faults and flaws and accepting them for who God has made them to be in this world. I am going to read through the gospel because that is where Jesus showed His love to His people. My hope and prayer is to pick up a few things from Jesus and be able to apply some of His characteristics to my life.
