Thanksgiving

In light of Thanksgiving, I want to skip Matthew just for today, and reflect upon 1Thessalonians 5:16-18.

16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1Thessalonians 5:16-18

I have so many things for which I am thankful. This past year has been a blur filled with blessings, learning and growing. God really had put me to the test of giving thanks in all circumstances- good or bad. Looking back on all the things that happened this past year, the things I considered to be "bad" actually turned out to be one of the most important life lessons God had laid upon me and in realizing that has made those "bad" into blessings. I learned that God, family, and serving His people are the top of my priorities, and since then I have been so much more joyful with myself and the Lord. He turned my mourning into dancing, and all I had to do was come back to Him. Most of all, I am thankful for having a God who is God. Not for anything He has done for me, but just for being the sovereign God that He is. Although Thanksgiving is only one day of sharing time with family and giving thanks, it really should be a year-round thing. We should be ever so thankful every single day. <3
