Joy in Serving.

Galatians 6:9
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

BAM. This is so what I needed.

I really really enjoy these three hour long conversations with this certain person.. Not because it makes me feel like I am "helping" that person out in any way, but merely because I can count on talking to them comfortably about God- sinner to sinner. I learn so much from these talks, through all the tough questions they throw at me. It's not like we even know the answer to any of them, but just the fact that it challenges us to think in such a way the world would not. It puts my trust in God ever so much more and my faith that much stronger. I cherish these moments so much, because this is when I really feel God's presence through His mediation between us. Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

Serving God, doing His good works, they aren't so much that so other people may be blessed, but so that we may be blessed as well. I serve because I desire to do so. I desire to serve because this is how I receive. You'd be surprised how much more you get back when you give to God. You get so much more in return than sitting in the pews and raising your hands to Heaven merely asking for Him to give it to you.
