I was talking to an old and dear friend of mine the other day, and as we were sharing prayer requests I asked him to pray for Purdue's spiritual drought. Since he's on a prayer tour with his JAMA team traveling cross-country to different cities and campuses, I thought it appropriate to ask him to pray for my school. His response to me was, "Fuego! Rachel maybe you are the Esther of Purdue and you were born for such a time as this." I immediately scoffed inside at such a ridiculous statement, but then I thought about it again.. What if we are the Esthers of this campus? When Haman plotted to kill all the Jews, Esther did not sit there and cry waiting to die. No, she took ACTION.
Mordecai said to her in verse 13, "Do not think that because you are in the king's house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:13-14)
Sure, Esther was flippin gorgeous and her looks took her all the way to the King's favorite spot with which she used to her advantage. But likewise, we all have our strengths and gifts from God that we could and should use to fight for His Kingdom. Are we using them to our fullest potential?
