Matthew 12: Legalism

Jesus talks about the Sabbath. The Pharisees saw the disciples picking and eating some grain because they were hungry and went to Jesus questioning Him of the Sabbath. But once again, Jesus replies that it is mercy that God desires, not sacrifice. I think that to an extent, legalism is necessary and obviously existent. But the rest of it, I believe, is rubbish. It is not by good works alone that gets us into the Kingdom of God, but our faith and salvation in Jesus Christ- With that, good works is all a given part of that faith. It is important to keep the Sabbath holy, not only through our actions but more so with our hearts.
