so my small group made individual commitments from the retreat.. resolutions that we could help keep each other accountable. although we all might have different things we need to focus on, the common goal is that we would strive to love Christ more and grow in Him. my commitment is for my prayer life to be alive and bear fruit. i realized this past year how much lacking i've been in prayer- my roots were all withered and dry all because i wasn't praying on a daily basis. therefore, i set a calendar event on my phone to remind me to pray everyday at a specific time of the day so that no matter how "busy" i get with life, i would devote spending even just a few minutes in conversation with God each day.
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place."
