what i've been learning
the past couple of weeks i've read through the books of Colossians, 1 Thessalonians and now I'm on 2 Thessalonians. as much as i have learned from all the warnings and words of encouragement through the letters of apostle paul, one thing i realized is how much paul reminds us to KEEP GOING, keep loving Christ, keep loving others. he warns us of the evils that surround us, that constantly tries to attack us. but nothing can break through the barrier between us and Christ as long as we STAND FIRM (2 thes 2:15). what does it mean to stand firm? it might not be as easy as it sounds, but the solution is simple, really: stay in the Word and in prayer. without doing these two essential things, how do we explain our faith? if we don't do our homework, go to class and pass the exams, how can we say that we learned anything from a course? i don't understand people who believe that they can still be strong in their faith without knowing any of Christ's teachings or communicating with God whatsoever. even geniuses have to study in order to learn. let's stop playing church and be real in our love for God.
